Created in memory of Daisy Ruth Peterek, whose joyful spirit continues to inspire generosity, Dine Out for Daisy proves that one extraordinary evening can help create a lifetime of unforgettable experiences.
Become Daisy's Friend and Support the Serious Fun Children’s Series
Through our Serious Fun Children’s Series, The Grand 1894 Opera House gives children the chance to experience the magic of live performance in a historic setting. Based on beloved children’s books, these performances inspire imagination, encourage reading, and bring stories to life in a whole new way.
Daisy’s Friends is a program that provides disadvantaged students the opportunity to attend Serious Fun performances. Created in memory of Daisy Ruth Peterek, who tragically passed at five months, this program is a lasting tribute to her, supported by her parents, Heather and Ben, with the backing of The Grand’s Board of Directors.
By supporting Daisy’s Friends, you can offer this enriching experience to children in Galveston. A $50 donation gives 10 children the chance to attend a show.
