The Grand Cake Affair

Welcome to The Grand Cake Affair! This affair is all about sharing sweet creations, connecting with others, and making memories over layers, sprinkles, and frosting. Guests are invited to bring a whole cake (homemade) and gather for an afternoon of indulgence and live entertainment in support of The Grand 1894 Opera House.

From towering layer cakes to beloved family recipes, every cake tells a story. Whether you’re a passionate baker, an enthusiastic taste-tester, or simply someone who loves a good slice of cake, this event is a charming, unforgettable experience.

Come hungry. Come curious. Come celebrate, because when it comes to down to it, The Grand truly takes…the cake!

Here’s how it works:

• Every individual (yes, every person — not per group) must purchase a ticket AND bring a whole, uncut cake to enter.
• Every Cake must be:
  • HOMEMADE not store bought
  • At least 8 inches in diameter
  • Placed on a disposable cake board (Please do not bring a cake stand)
• Upon arrival, cakes will be displayed alongside all other attendees’ creations.
• After all cakes are displayed, guests will enjoy a designated viewing period to admire everyone’s delicacies. (Local judges will give prizes for decorating categories)
• Then, we’ll rotate small groups into the pavilion to slice and swap cutting pieces of their favorite cakes and packing them into a provided takeaway box. Groups are divided and determined by the first come first serve arrival line from start of check-in.
• Guests are welcome to bring blankets, hang out in the park, eat cake, take photos, and enjoy live music and the sweet social scene, or take their cake box to-go!

PRICING:
Tickets are $40 PLUS a homemade cake.
This includes

• Keepsake plastic cake knife with The Grand Cake Affair 2026 (for the first 150 tickets)
• Take away cake box
• 8-10 slices of homemade cake!

The Grand Cake Affair is a community-driven celebration where cakes are provided by individual participants and local contributors. While ingredient information will be encouraged, The Grand 1894 Opera House does not prepare, inspect, or certify the food served at this event.

Guests with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or sensitivities are encouraged to use their discretion when sampling cakes. By attending, guests acknowledge that they are responsible for their own food choices.
