The first Bulgarian singer to release a CD in the United States, Dyana Dafova's music incorporates various formats with a unique contemporary sound. Her compositions from the latest album Charisma - One World In Song, are a fusion of the Bulgarian folklore and orthodox intonation with elements of different cultures from around the world.
Dyana performs in 11 languages, including Sanscrit, Celtic, Latin, Italian, Japanese, North American Indian, Bulgarian, English and others. Her music has a powerful, positive and spiritual message, inspired by the search of the creative person in the supernatural world. Among her many accomplishments, Dyana has had major success in over 25 countries.
Through the years she has participated in concerts, competitions, festivals,TV and radio programs in Europe, Asia and the United States. She is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the First Prize World Music Award for “Taliesin” at the USA Songwriting Competition. Dyana is recognized for her humanitarian services as a special envoy for the United Nations Refugee Agency and her song “Shin Koto” is included in the charitable compilation “USA for UNHCR”.
Dyana is the first European artist to be invited to NASA Space Center for a live launch of the shuttle ‘Columbia”, while they played her music during the launch, Plus she is the only Non-US citizen to entertain US troops in Kosovo, earning her five medals of distinction. Dyana has received accolades from many prestigious leaders including His Holiness Pope John Paul II and Senator Hillary Clinton. Her graceful and magnetic stage and screen presence also adds to the power of her music.
