Cornell Gunter's COASTERS, Elsbeary Hobbs's DRIFTERS
And THE PLATTERS

Friday-Saturday, October 13-14, 2006
8pm / 8pm

The music and melodies of the 50's and 60's are revisited in this dynamic revival of chart topping hits. These three talented groups will have you moving your feet to the sounds of old favorites including "Charlie Brown", "Love Potion #9", "There Goes My Baby", "On Broadway" and "The Magic Touch".

Cornell Gunter's Coasters are the supreme comedians of rock and roll. Their songs, their parodies and the tunes that became million-selling records for The Coasters are recharged in this new generation of music. Performing much of the comedy material originally created by the late Cornell Gunter, Cornell Gunter's Coaster will entertain you with hits such as, "Zing Went the Strings", "Smokey Joe's Café", and "Baby That is Rock & Roll". To this date, their act is one of the liveliest and funniest in show business – keeping the music alive and the love for the music stronger than ever.

Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters blends a tasteful mixture of The Drifters million sellers with contemporary standards, many in medley form and several lifted from their powerful Columbia album, "Too Hot", all presented within the context of The Drifters famous patented choreography. The late Elsbeary Hobbs was the original bass singer for the Drifters. Today, Hobbs' wife, Odessa Hobbs, has united many of her late husband's former band members as the Elsbeary Hobbs Drifters to commemorate much of the great material to which he contributed artistically. Enjoy memorable hits like "Some Kind of Wonderful", "Save the Last Dance for Me", "This Magic Moment", and "Under the Boardwalk".

The Platters, formed in 1953 in Los Angeles, became one of the most popular vocal groups of the fifties. Having toured in some 75 countries, The Platters still spend much of their time abroad and have most recently played for a private gathering of heads of state in Washington, D.C. Playing venues from Madison Square Garden to the Bottom Line, the group is still delighting audiences on a regular basis with favorites such as, "Only You", You'll Never Never Know," and "It's Magic".

Don't miss a lively and entertaining trip down memory lane with some of your all-time favorite sounds as Cornell Gunter's Coasters, Elsbeary Hobbs' Drifters and The Platters perform at The Grand.
