Gabriel Royal’s journey from art teacher to modern chamber pop composer-performer began as a fun diversion with friends. His sensual singing voice and sonorous cello accompaniment developed while playing and singing in the New York subways. Gabriel’s musical influences include Stevie Wonder’s groove, Burt Bacharach’s relaxed, jazzy yet poppy sensitivities, and the multi-talents of alternative contemporary artists including John Legend, Hiatus Coyote, Flying Lotus, James Blake, Jangle Monae and Thundercat.

Silent film with Rob Landes – Phantom of the Opera

An annual Halloween tradition, Rob Landes reprises his specially created, totally improvised musical score for the showing of Lon Chaney’s 1925 silent film masterpiece, The Phantom of the Opera. With his transformative (and highly secretive) makeup techniques and his exceptional acting abilities, Lon Chaney created iconic big-screen characters that made him one of early Hollywood’s biggest box office stars.
